If tablets against malaria are advised it is important these are taken correctly and at the same time of the day or week, and the nurse can advise. Some are not available on prescription but can be obtained from the chemist, and others are only available on a private prescription for which you will have to pay £5 at the surgery plus the pharmacy charge, and you will need to see the doctor to discuss it before you will be prescribed. The appropriate medication for your journey will be advised depending on the area where you are travelling.
